Short courses open for enrolment!

Short courses are a great opportunity to expand upon your current skill set, within or outside of your industry. Our short courses offered are incredibly comprehensive as we always ensure our students feel confident and demonstrate competency in whatever activity or new knowledge they are undertaking. Upon completion of our courses, typically over a 1-2 day period, you will be issued a Statement of Attainment for your records/further application processes for licensing.

Read on to see what is on offer!

ACDC

Our course for Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Control covers 3 units of competency selected by the Department of Primary Industries designed to address the specific skills and knowledge required to be able to apply for an ACDC unrestricted licence.

We will cover how to apply and report the control of weeds methods, hazard and risk management relevant to the industry, preparation, application and safe use of chemicals, appropriate calibration, SDS use, chemical record keeping, spray plans, transportation of chemicals, chemical management and storage through the below units:

AHCCHM307 - Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weeds and diseases

AHCCHM304 - Transport and Store Chemicals

AHCPMG301 - Control Weeds

Under the Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Control Act 1966, to utilise ground equipment to distribute herbicides on land that you do not own or occupy, you may require a commercial operator's licence. This will depend on the type of equipment you will be utilising and whether or not your activities will be conducted in a declared hazardous area, regulated area or non regulated area of Queensland. Give us a call for more information or to speak with a trainer to assist with any questions you may have.

POOL SAFETY

Our course for Swimming Pool Safety Inspections covers all the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge that would be needed to competently complete inspections of regulated swimming pools and issue pool safety certificates and non-conformity notices, in accordance with legislative requirements.

Students will be guided through the regulated frameworks applicable to performing pool safety inspections, including the application of relevant pool safety standards when deciding whether a pool is compliant and the appropriate reporting techniques of inspection outcomes and rectification timelines with pool owners (or their agents) through the below unit:

10660NAT - Course In Swimming Pool Safety Inspections (Elective)

The qualification gained from this course will enable students to apply for their QLD Pool Safety Inspectors License to legally perform pool barrier inspections and issue Pool Safety Certificates. Changes were made in December 2010 to legislation regarding Queensland swimming pools requiring issue of a pool safety certificate prior to sale or lease of the property, the inspection must be carried out by a licensed pool safety inspector and this is where you come in!
